Beauty in Nature

For me, a skull is a tool to show painting technique and variety. I place tight brushstrokes, loose gestures or suggestive glazes to form the image. I can contrast flat planes with scumbled textures to imitate three dimensions. By painting the same object multiple times, Iā€™m able to learn and grow each iteration. As I have worked with skulls over the past thirty years, my process is still evolving.
